Bozeman Actors Theatre Presents: "True West"
Bozeman Actors Theatre presents "True West" by Sam Shepard, running February 7 – 23 at the Black Box Theatre at 11th and Grant on the MSU campus.
As a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, "True West" presents a sibling rivalry so strong it questions the ideal of the American Dream and what that truly means. In "True West" estranged brothers Austin and Lee (played by Kevin Asselin and Joe Faifer) find themselves together again, but with very different lifestyles. As the brothers try to reconnect while also pursuing their own separate goals, the lines of identity begin to blur between them, leading to ironic conversations and an underlying threat of violence. "True West" becomes a metaphor for separating the mythologies of the American West from the authentic American West.
Friday and Saturday performances start at 7:30 pm, Sunday matinees begin at 3 pm.
